Medication Management
Medication can be an important part of mental health treatment, but it should never feel rushed, confusing, or disconnected from the rest of your care. At Elevate Mental Wellness, our providers take time to understand your symptoms, history, goals, concerns, and previous treatment experiences before making medication recommendations. Our approach is collaborative, evidence-based, and focused on helping you feel informed and supported throughout treatment.
-
Medication management may include psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis clarification, medication initiation, medication adjustments, ongoing monitoring, side effect management, education about treatment options, and coordination with therapists, primary care providers, case managers, or other members of your care team when appropriate.
-

Our Approach to Medication Management
Collaborative Care
We believe medication decisions should be made with you, not for you. Your provider will discuss options, benefits, risks, side effects, and alternatives so you can make informed choices about your care.
Evidence-Based Treatment
Clinical evidence, diagnostic understanding, symptom patterns, safety considerations, and your individual treatment history guide our recommendations.
Whole-Person Perspective
Medication management is not limited to prescribing. We consider sleep, stress, trauma history, relationships, medical concerns, substance use, therapy involvement, and daily functioning.
Ongoing Monitoring
Mental health needs can change over time. Follow-up appointments allow your provider to assess progress, adjust medications when needed, monitor side effects, and help ensure treatment remains appropriate.
Initial Appointment
During your first medication management appointment, your provider will complete a detailed psychiatric assessment. This may include reviewing your current symptoms, mental health history, medical history, medications, previous treatment, family history, substance use history, safety concerns, and treatment goals.
Follow-Up Appointments
Follow-up visits are used to monitor response to treatment, review side effects, make medication adjustments if needed, and discuss how symptoms are affecting daily life. These appointments also give you space to ask questions and stay actively involved in your care.
Medication Is One Part of Care
Medication can be helpful, but it is often most effective when combined with therapy, coping skills, lifestyle support, case management, and strong communication between providers. When clinically appropriate, we may recommend additional services to support your overall treatment plan.
